This multi phase project recently culminated in a twelve artist exhibit of original water containers at the Roundhouse Community Arts Centre. It was a part of a larger project entitled Footprints, mounted in conjunction with the World Urban Forum and the World Peace Forum in Vancouver, June 2006. Footprints featured artists from diverse mediums in dialogue about building a more socially and economically sustainable world. Our component, The Water Filter Project, demonstrated the contribution of community and ceramic technology to this dialogue. Story boards containing information about how the filters are made and how they work were included along with information about Potters For Peace and the newly formed Potters Without Borders. These works were auctioned off with the money raised going to the new organization.
